How to get to downtown Reykjavik from our houses?

By car

We are only a 5-minute drive from downtown Reykjavik. Check parking information on our article here. 

By bus

The bus stop Hæðarbraut for the bus route number 11 is only a 5-minute walk from the Blue House/GNL. It will take you to the city centre within 15 minutes. To buy tickets you would need to download the application Klappið: klappid.is. A one-way bus ticket costs 630 ISK (~ 4 EUR) per person. You can also buy it directly on board with exact Icelandic cash, as the bus driver doesn’t have and give any change back. Check the bus connections and routes on the website: straeto.is.  

Reykjavik City Card

Alternatively, you can also buy the Reykjavik City Card, which provides free unlimited travel by bus within the Reykjavík capital area for 24, 48, or 72 hours. The card also offers free entry to a great selection of museums and galleries as well as the thermal pools in Reykjavík. You can purchase it online on their website here.
